THE INSATIABLE — Never consider that it is enough.
Alexandre le Grand, Macedon — 356–323 BC. King of Macedon at twenty, he campaigned for eleven years from Greece to the Indus without losing a pitched battle. He fought on the front line and sources attribute several serious wounds to him, including an arrow to the lung in Mallian territory. He died in Babylon in June 323 BC, aged thirty-two.
This is the situation carried by the Alexandre le Grand capsule from the CULTURE OF WAR collection: not a tribute, but a mirror. The piece bears the inscription “RIEN N'EST IMPOSSIBLE À CELUI QUI OSE”, the capsule's motto.
