THE ONE WHO HOLDS — Holding your position when the balance of power no longer justifies it.
Léonidas, Sparta — Thermopylae, 480 BC. In August 480 BC, Léonidas commanded the Greek rearguard at the pass of Thermopylae. He held for three days with a greatly reduced force, then sent the bulk of the troops away and remained with his last men. The position fell, but the delay allowed the Greek fleet to reorganise.
This is the situation carried by the Léonidas capsule from the CULTURE OF WAR collection: not a tribute, but a mirror. The piece bears the inscription “MORITVRI TE SALVTANT”, the capsule's motto.
Short-sleeve grappling rashguard with full black sublimation print, patterned side panels and a portrait on the back. 240 g/m² technical fabric made from 92% polyester and 8% elastane, with four-way stretch, low-friction flat seams, silicone hem gripper and reinforced collar. The sublimated graphic is embedded in the fibres, so it will not peel, crack or lift in the wash. Close-fitting men’s cut for no-gi, Brazilian jiu-jitsu and MMA. Check current IBJJF or CFJJB rules before competition use. Sizes S to 2XL.
